How long does a transfer take?

Time limit for an internal transfer between 2 Nickel accounts

  • The transfer is instantaneous for you and the recipient!
  • SMS transfers from a Nickel account to Nickel are limited to €200 over 7 days

💡 For security reasons, if you have changed your phone number in the last 10 days, your new beneficiary will definitely be added to your contacts within 48 hours. You must therefore wait for this period to make your transfer.

Time limits for an external transfer from another bank

  • Interbank transfers take longer: you will be credited between 24 and 48 hours.
Feel free to set up your notifications to be alerted when a transfer arrives in your account.
⚠️ There are no transfers on weekends and Mondays at some banks:
  • If you enter a transfer in the morning, it will be in the beneficiary's account the next day.
  • If you enter your transfer in the afternoon, it will be in the beneficiary's account on day 2 (48 hours)

I have not received my transfer, what should I do?

If after 48 working hours you still have not received your transfer, we invite you to request a proof of transfer from the issuing organizationin order to verify the exact date of departure of the funds.
Many banks check the transfers before sending them, so there may be a day's delay between the transfer being entered and the funds actually leaving.

Is there a format to follow when making a transfer?

  • We only accept transfers in SEPA format.
  • We cannot accept transfers in SWIFT format, nor urgent CRI transfers, also known as "day value transfers".
